How do I buy an investment on the IG Invest app?

Simply locate the stock/ETF screen either through your watchlist or by searching for it in the ‘Explore’ area of the app. From there, select the ‘Invest’ button at the bottom of the screen.

Note: if you select a US investment and haven’t yet completed your W-8BEN form, you’ll be prompted to do this first.

If you have an open GIA and ISA, you’ll need to select which account you’d like to invest in on the next screen and then be presented with the ‘Review order’ screen. Here, you’ll be able to check your available cash balance in whichever account you selected, the price of a share in that stock and you can input the number of shares you want to buy. When you’re done, tap ‘Review order’. You’ll be presented with a review screen where you can check any fees and charges associated with your order. Once you’re happy, tap ‘Submit order’ to send this to be executed immediately.
